Credit bureaus will give you lower scores if you use a PO Box or Mail Drop location when you apply for credit. Rural Routes with PO Boxes result in lower credit scores as well. Your efforts to protect your privacy by not using your home mail box work against you thanks to the credit bureaus.

How do you report a personal to the credit bureaus?
September 23rd, 2010
admin I gave a “friend” a personal loan, of course making him sign a legally binding loan agreement, and he has missed payment for 5 months. I’d like to report the loan to the Credit Bureaus so that his score will be appropriately affected by his non-payment.
The only problem is I don’t know how to report a personal loan to the credit bureaus, any advise you can give would be helpful.

How long does take for a student loan creditor to report to credit bureaus a past due balance as finally paid?
September 19th, 2010
admin Hi Experts!
I am recovering from a hit to my credit report in the form of two consecutive non-payments on a small student loan. The loan bill was sent to my parents house who are retired and have been in Europe for the past 3 months so I don’t completely blame myself. However – I just paid the payment balance last week and i’m curious about the effect it will have on my report.
So my questions are:
1)Will it take a month for the loan creditor to report the payment to the credit bureaus or is this more of an instantaneous process?
2)Now that the account dues are paid, will the loan be removed from the “adverse accounts” section of my report and will my score jump up at all?
I’m really interested in building up my score – this hit was a real punch in the nose for me. I guess there are always bumps in the road
Well thanks in advance for all of your help and I’m looking forward to reading your responses.

I haven’t heard anything from this complex in almost 4 years. They just now reported to the credit bureaus as of July 09 that i owe them over $400, when i never received any notice of owing them anything.
Is there a time limit in Arizona that a creditor has to report to the credit bureaus?
