what does it take to get collections off after you have validated w/ credit bureau?

I payed a collection, and then realized it was bad for my credit and want it gone. i wrote the credit bureaus and had it validated, now what next?

    You should have tried for a “pay to delete” agreement. Once it has gone to collections and even though you payed it, when you “validated” this debt, they just agreed to the fact that it was paid.
    It will still be on your report in accordance with the FCRA regulations. Only time will remove it.
